Find out what document you need to travel, visit family and friends, do business, or transit through Canada. Are you the parents or grandparents of a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen? Stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time!

Visitor Permit

Depending where you are from, you may need to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).

Extend Your Stay as a Visitor

Once you are in Canada, you may be able to extend your authorized stay. A visitor record is a document that continues to give you status as a visitor in Canada and allows you to stay longer. It doesn’t guarantee that you can leave and then re-enter Canada.

Parent and Grandparent Super Visa

This visa lets parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents visit their families in Canada for up to 5 years at a time. If you don’t need a visitor visa to enter Canada, you can still get a super visa to stay in Canada for up to 5 years.

Apply to study in Canada, extend your study permit and get information about working while you study or after you graduate.

Application to Designated Learning Institutions

Choosing to study in Canada can be an excellent pathway to becoming a Permanent Resident.
Choosing an appropriate school is a very important step.
We are here to help you select the best school or program, and what to expect when you get to Canada through our partnership with ApplyBoard. Together we will guide you through the process of identifying a program best suited for your needs in your preferred province.

Study Permit

A study permit is required when you plan to study in Canada for six months or more. You are required to show sufficient funds, have a Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution, be admissible to Canada, among other relevant factors. You may also apply for a study permit for programs that are less than six months long.

Post-Graduation Work Permit

Your choice of studies determines whether or not you can apply for a work permit after graduation.
The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP) allows students who have graduated from eligible Canadian designated learning institutions (DLIs) to obtain an open work permit to gain valuable Canadian work experience. Skilled Canadian work experience in positions at a TEER level of 0, 1, 2 or 3 that is gained through the PGWPP helps graduates qualify for permanent residence in Canada through the Canadian Experience Class within Express Entry.

Temporary workers, business people and students generally need a work permit before preforming any work duties in Canada. Get the right permit for you and your family, or help with your current permit.

Temporary Work Permit

An open work permit offers maximum flexibility allowing you to work for almost any employer in Canada. An open work permit is an option available only in specific situations. An employer-specific work permit allows you to work according to the conditions on your work permit, which include the name of the employer you can work for, how long you can work, and the location where you can work.

Working on a work permit in Canada can be highly advantageous when seeking permanent residence. Canadian work experience can supply points in the Express Entry system, federally administered immigration pilot programs, or may be a prerequisite for one of the many provincial nominee programs.

Permanent Work Permit

Canada offers permanent residence to eligible workers. As a permanent resident, you have the right to get most social benefits that Canadian citizens receive, including health care coverage, live, work or study anywhere in Canada, apply for Canadian citizenship, and receive protection under Canadian law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Thousands of workers are invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada every month through Express Entry, which includes the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Program. Other permanent resident programs for workers include the Provincial Nominee Program, the Atlantic Immigration Program, the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, Agri-Food Immigration Pilot, and the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot.
At KC Immigration Consulting, we can analyze your current situation and come up with a plan that’s right for you to help you and your family achieve your dream of permanent residence in Canada.

Work Permit Extension

If you have a work permit that’s about to expire or that you need to change, you must apply to extend it or change the conditions on it.
You should apply to extend your work permit at least 30 days before your current permit expires.

Many pathways lead to becoming a permanent resident and then applying to become a Canadian citizen. It can open so many doors for you as you can live, study, or work anywhere in Canada.
Family reunification is a priority for Canadian immigration and allows Canadian citizens to sponsor certain family members, such as their spouses, siblings, or even parents/grandparents.
A permanent resident (PR) is a citizen of another country who has been given permanent resident status by immigrating to Canada. A permanent resident is not a Canadian citizen.
A person in Canada who is in Canada temporarily, such as a student, or foreign worker, or visitor is not a permanent resident.
As a permanent resident, you will need a PR card to show that you have permanent resident status in Canada. If you travel outside Canada, you will need to show your card and your passport when you come back on a commercial vehicle, like an airplane, boat, train or bus. Otherwise, you need to apply for a permanent resident travel document before returning to Canada by a commercial vehicle.
